Suitable marble and natural stone benchtops can often be restored after surface etching or wear. The material and damage determine whether polishing, honing, cleaning or another treatment is appropriate. Caesarstone and engineered stone need a different approach: sanding changes the factory sheen, so we do not promise a factory repolish. Send photos before using an abrasive product.
Planning a stone polishing job in Sydney
Send a full-benchtop photograph, close-ups in daylight and side lighting, the material name if known and your suburb. Include the products or treatments already used. Tell us about stairs, lift bookings, parking and access around the kitchen. We confirm the area to be treated, the intended finish and the price before you book.
Identify dullness before treating it
A cloudy patch may be an etch, surface residue, wear, scratching or a coating problem. Treating every mark with a polishing compound can make the finish less even. Send photos in diffuse daylight and side lighting, describe the incident and list the products already used.
Natural stone restoration
Suitable marble and other natural stone may be refinished to address etching and wear. The treatment is planned around the stone, damage depth, current finish and adjoining sections. A full section may need attention to achieve a consistent result rather than a small isolated shiny patch.
Engineered stone has a different limit
Sanding engineered stone removes its factory sheen; we do not offer a promise to recreate that factory finish. Where appropriate, controlled surface treatment and full-section gloss protection film can be assessed as a separate solution. Material suitability and the appearance beside uncovered sections must be considered.
A written restoration scope
The quote should identify the surface, area, intended finish, treatment limitations and care instructions. Deep stains, burns or structural damage may remain or require replacement. Do not assume polishing will remove every mark or make the stone resistant to future etching.
